Course Details

This intensive 5-day course provides practical training on using AutoCAD software for design and drafting in the oil and gas industry. Participants will learn how to create 2D and 3D drawings of various oil and gas equipment, facilities, and layouts. The course covers key topics such as drawing setup, object creation and modification, layering, dimensioning, plotting, and working with blocks and xrefs. Participants will gain hands-on experience using AutoCAD through realistic oil and gas design projects.

This course emphasizes practical application and industry-specific design challenges. Participants will work on projects related to pipeline design, facility layouts, equipment drawings, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams). The course will also cover customization techniques and best practices for creating efficient and accurate AutoCAD drawings. By the end of this course, participants will be proficient in using AutoCAD to create professional-quality drawings for oil and gas applications.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Create 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Use AutoCAD commands and tools effectively.
  • Work with layers, blocks, and xrefs.
  • Dimension and annotate drawings.
  • Plot and print drawings.
  • Apply AutoCAD to oil and gas design projects.
  • Drafting technicians and designers in the oil and gas industry
  • Engineers who need to create or modify drawings
  • CAD operators
  • Anyone involved in design and drafting in the oil and gas sector
